The VCAC and local artists have cleared out their studios to offer a wide range of gently used art supplies and equipment. From paints, easels and brushes to ceramics tools and inspiring art books, there’s a treasure trove of items for you to discover! 

Each artist will manage their sales, so please make sure to bring cash and cards to support these talented creators and the vibrant arts community.

Create a fun hot air balloon-inspired lantern to carry with you to the Vernon Winter Carnival Balloon Glow! Using paper, markers, tissue, twine, and paper ball lanterns, kids can create their own uniquely designed balloon lantern. Be inspired by hot air balloons you have seen in previous years or create something new from your imagination.

Workshop to be held at the Vernon Community Arts Centre, February 2, from 3:00-5:00pm.

Back by Popular Demand! Mugs of May Art Show & Sale is a fun celebration of the humble mug, something that we use every day. Each year local potters and other artisans fill the Arts Centre with hundreds of functional mugs along with fabulous fine art pieces.

Throughout the show, artists continue to make and bring in new pieces, so be sure to pop in a few times to find those one-of-a-kind mugs for your collection, or to give as gifts.

Open daily from May 3 to 28th.

Landscapes, whether real or imagined, encourage us to take a moment to explore, and experience new worlds. For this exhibit, local artists were tasked to draw inspiration from the world around them and translate it with their own unique vision and artistic style.

Join us this March and venture into familiar and unfamiliar territory and unique landscapes at the Vernon Community Arts Centre Gallery. Participating artists are all members of the Arts Council of the North Okanagan, the not-for-profit society that runs the VCAC.

Exhibit is open to the public daily, March 1 to April 2, 2024.

Altered Realities, Abstracted Creations” invites you to explore the the beauty of ambiguity through abstract and representational art. This exhibit features a range of paintings, sculptures, and prints from Okanagan artists, and members of the Arts Council of the North Okanagan.

This exhibit runs February 2 to 25 at the Vernon Community Arts Centre.

Visitors are welcome to see the show at no charge. Donations accepted for those that wish to support Vernon Community Arts.

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are small pieces of art that are traded around the world, just like hockey or Pokémon cards. Artists create, trade and collect original art at organized “swap” events, in person, or online. The only official rules for ATCs is the size: 2.5″ x 3.5″ and you cannot trade someone else’s art. Bring cards to trade, or make them here! All materials will be provided. (Blank artist cards are for sale at the Vernon Arts Centre for those who wish to pre-make cards or just stock up on supplies).

Make your own decorative ‘hot air’ balloon with papier mâché and take it with you to the Vernon Winter Carnival Balloon Glow! On the first day of this two-part workshop, you will create the main part of your balloon using the paper strip method. The following week, you will decorate your balloon using tissues, paint, and other techniques to personalize it. Lastly, you will add the basket and the special little touches to personalize your Winter Carnival Balloon. You MUST attend both days to complete your project.
