Vernon Arts Summer School
5-Day Workshop Series | August 5th to 9th & August 12th to 16th
Experienced and qualified art instructors are invited to submit proposals for the inaugural Vernon Arts Summer School program. You’re encouraged to go beyond the traditional VCAC programming and design a 5-day intensive workshop for adults that challenges the norm and inspires artistic exploration (ex. experimental techniques, large-scale projects, unconventional mediums). If you are passionate about sharing your artistic expertise and inspiring others, we encourage you to submit your proposal for consideration.
Sell Your Art in VCAC’s Winter Artisan Sale!
The Vernon Community Arts Centre invites Okanagan artists across all mediums to apply to become a vendor at Artsolutely, a 25-day artisan sale. Artsolutely is going into its 19th year and runs Nov 30th to Dec 24th. This juried sale has become the Okanagan’s premier artisan sale and features over 12,500 handmade items made from glass, clay, wood, metal, paper, textiles, mixed media, and more. If you create quality, original handcrafted work at various price points, with a gift-giving appeal, we want to hear from you!
Application Closing Date: Sunday, May 19th, 2024.
Visualizing the Elements
Dive into the essence of nature with your artistic interpretation of earth, air, fire, and water! We seek artworks that not only depict these elements, but also resonate with the impact they have on our world, and your experiences within it. All mediums welcome.
Exhibit: May 31st to June 25th

Apply to be the Next Youth Artist in Residence!
The 2024 Youth Artist in Residence (YAR) is open to all aspiring artists aged 16-18 living in the North Okanagan region.
Selected artist(s) will be provided with a dedicated studio space, access to artist and administrative support, facilities and equipment during open hours, a one-year membership, an honorarium to purchase materials and supplies, and the opportunity to showcase their completed work in an exhibit at the VCAC Centre Gallery.
The 2024 Youth Artist Residency runs Tuesday, July 2, to Friday, August 23. The YAR Exhibit is scheduled for August 22 to September 10th.

Full-Time – Employment Term: Starting the week of June 24th, for 8 weeks.

Mini Masterpieces – A Showcase of Miniature Art!
Embrace the power of the small, but mighty by submitting works for our upcoming gallery exhibit, Mini Masterpieces. Artists are invited to explore the mesmerizing world of miniature art, showcasing the beauty of the finer details. Create tiny but impactful works, and challenge viewers to adjust their perspective and appreciate the art of patience and precision.
Exhibit: June 28 to July 25, 2024

The Vernon Community Arts Centre invites local artists to sell their work in our art shop. Applications for smaller artworks and artisan goods are accepted three times a year.
