The Old Vernon Potter is a modest celebration of the late Axel Ebring, who produced pottery between the mid 1920’s to 1954.

This special exhibit has been curated by Bob Kingsmill, a prominent Vernon potter. Bob has brought in approximately 75 pieces of Ebring’s work from his private collection.

Ebring was born in Kalmar Sweden in 1874, and immigrated to Canada at the age of twelve. He began potting in the 1920’s, and become one of Canada’s pioneer potter’s, known primarily for his functional, wood-fired earthenware. Ebring worked as professional potter right up until his passing in 1954.

Bob will be presenting the collection in an opening reception Thursday, November 2nd, from 6-8pm. Please join us in celebrating this local legend.
