Beginners Pottery – 6 Week Course

Instructor: Erin Kronbauer

Beginners Pottery - 6 Week Course

Level: Beginner

Our beginner pottery classes are for those with little to no clay experience, who want to learn the proper techniques for creating wheel thrown pottery. Lessons will cover wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and finishing. Focus is on learning to centre the clay and make basic cylinders and bowls – the foundation for creating mugs, vases and other forms. Students will also be introduced to the glazing studio where they will learn basic glazing techniques to get them started in the art of ceramics. Completing this course will qualify members to use the clay studio on a drop-in basis, which allows students the time and space to refine their skills and work on their own projects.

Price includes 1 bag of clay and a personal clay tool kit. Additional clay is available for purchase.

Note: Students should bring an apron, clear plastic recycling bag and an old towel. Please leave rings, watches, and bracelets at home. Long hair should be tied back. Long nails are not recommended.
