Silmara Emde is a creative soul, whose curiosity and endless energy to learn have led her to explore a multitude of ways to express her enthusiasm for a creative colorful life. She is a multi-talented visual artist with an extensive background in Graphic Design and about a decade of experience with Photography.
Silmara works and plays with a range of media on countless personal and professional projects – photography, web and print based graphic design, film-making, book making, watercolour, and sewing. She is also interested in analog processes of image making, and is passionate about all-things-paper and sure more to come. Her inspiration comes mainly from the poetry of daily life and nature.
Born and raised in Brazil and now married to a Canadian, Silmara has made BC her home for the past 10 years. She resided in Vancouver first, but her and her husband have chosen the Okanagan as their place to call home, where they plan to stay to raise their small child.
“I acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Nation.”
