Jo-Ann Law first fell in love with pottery at Prince George’s College of New Caledonia, in her youth. After a long hiatus from the craft she rediscovered it in 2012 at the encouragement of her eldest daughter, who was interested in taking classes at the local pottery guild in Northern Alberta. Since then, Jo-Ann has devoted many hours to her love of pottery, building her skills through classes and experimentation.
When the time came to retire and move back to beautiful BC, deciding on a location was the next challenge. After visiting the Vernon Community Arts Centre, Jo-Ann had found her new happy place. She has been a member of the Arts Council of the North Okanagan since 2018 and began teaching at the Arts Centre in 2019.
Jo-Ann’s philosophy for pottery is based in pure joy and play, “There is just nothing like taking a piece of clay and creating something beautiful.”
