Raku Workshop

Instructor: Jeremy Pawlowicz

Raku Workshop

Level: All Levels

Learn the exciting art of Raku firing which reduces glazes to colourful metallic or gorgeous crackle finishes. Students will bring ready-to-fire bisque-ware and learn to apply glaze, fire pieces safely, and clean and protect their work.  Students should bring 3-6 pieces of WSO* Clay bisque-ware, of various sizes, but no bigger than 6″x6″. Everyone will get at least 1 piece in each kiln load (usually 3 or 4 depending on weather and other factors) and we will fill spaces in the kiln with extra pieces if possible. *WSO clay produces the best results, but other clay bodies can be used with varying affects.  Firing will be done outdoors and is very smoky. Please dress accordingly and ensure you have closed toed shoes. A 30-minute lunch break will be provided.
