WEATHER PERMITTING – Learn the exciting art of Raku firing which can give you a variety of finishes, including metallics, crackles and reductions. Students will bring ready-to-fire bisque-ware and learn to apply glaze, fire pieces safely, and clean and protect their work. Size restrictions, as noted below, ensure there is room in the kiln to fire everyone’s work. WSO clay produces the best results. Firing will be done outdoors and is very smoky. Please dress accordingly and ensure you have closed toed shoes. A 30-minute lunch break will be provided.
Note: All participants must be 17 year or older. Students should bring 3-6 pieces of WSO Clay bisque-ware, no larger than 6”x 6” (a variety of sizes is advised). Use of glazes and tools included.
