Drawing is a great way of researching, developing, and communicating ideas. Observational drawing helps children learn about the world, improves their observational skills, develops creative thinking, and builds confidence. Once we can draw from observation, we need no tricks, no guidebooks, no formulas, and no stereotypes. This 6-week course will involve learning to “see” and draw essential visual elements such as line, shape, form, value, space, and texture, and studying ways to organize them. Through gradual building up of drawing skills, students will be guided to a final project at the end of the course.
