Amy completed her ceramics schooling in the mountains of Nelson B.C at the Kootenay School of the Arts in June, 2017. Since then she and her husband have settled in Vernon, B.C where she grew up and where she continues to produce functional work.
“Of the many processes required to turn clay into stoneware, throwing is what I prefer. There are hand builders, and those who love fire and glazing and there are those who love shape and form. At this stage in my work I am fascinated with throwing replicas and the details required to match each form.”
As well as producing pottery, Amy owns and operates the flower side of Orchard Green Farms where they grow and sell fresh cut flowers and greenery for special events and weddings.
“I guess I like my hands in the mud- I’m either farming or working with clay.”
