James Postill is a landscape and figurative artist with a fine arts degree from UBC Okanagan. He has been a practicing artist for twenty years and has taught in schools, art centres and private classes since 2001.
The Okanagan landscape inspires much of his work, where he can play with the contrast of distance. He is also compelled by distinct versus indistinct forms, most notably characteristic in his ‘Rain Series’, based on scenes viewed through a rainy windshield.
First and foremost, James Postill is a fresco artist. He has studied and perfected the art over several years and is the only practicing buon fresco artist known in Canada today.
He has completed numerous public and private commissions and his work is held in private collections in Japan, Korea, UK, South America, United States and Canada.
He is represented by the Whiterock Gallery, BC and Gibson Fine Art in Calgary, Alberta.
