Felted Scarf or Nuno Felted Scarf

Level: Beginner/Intermediate

In this one day workshop you will complete your choice of either a felted scarf or a nuno felted scarf.  Nuno felting refers to blending wool roving and fabrics together into one fabric through a rolling process. The technique used will embed wool, prefelts and other fibers into a silk scarf. While making a felted scarf, students will work with a variety of wool types and learn different techniques of wet felting a scarf to add texture and unique characteristics of this amazing medium.

No experience necessary. At time of registration students must state which scarf they want to make. Note: Felting requires repetitive motion and some strength in arms, hands and wrists.

Students should bring 2 medium or large towels, metal mixing bowl, measuring cup, 2 pieces of bubble wrap a minimum of 7 ft. long  by 18 inches wide (smaller pieces can be taped together to make a large piece), 2 pieces of plastic 7 ft. x 24 inches wide and an apron. You will get wet! Price includes all other materials for your scarf.
