Through demonstration and one on one instruction, explore clay techniques as you build various forms. Students will be introduced to new hand-building techniques in each class and be challenged to get more creative with their projects.



Monday & Tuesday, July 3 & 4 9:30am – 3:30pm || In these hand building classes we will do a variety of projects using different skill building techniques to make our very own sculptures. Lunch is supervised; participants need to bring a lunch, drinks, snacks and wear art appropriate clothing.



Monday, July 10 9:30am – 3:30pm || Develop your hand building techniques while a making your own unique clay mask. Lunch is supervised; participants need to bring a lunch, drinks, snacks and wear art appropriate clothing.



Tuesday, July 11 9:15am – 12:15pm || Develop your hand building techniques while making clay bowls.



Monday, July 17 9:30am – 3:30pm || Using different skill building techniques you will make your very own clay castle. Lunch is supervised; participants need to bring a lunch, drinks, snacks and wear art appropriate clothing.



Tuesday, July 18 9:30am – 12:30pm || Make a clay wind chime to hang in your garden.



Wednesdays, July 19 – August 16 (no class August 6), 1:00pm – 4:00pm || Learn how to throw on the wheel and practice the decorating and glazing techniques that go into creating finished pieces. During this class students will learn the basics and explore functional forms while making several mugs and bowls. Please leave rings, watches and bracelets at home. Hair should be tied back. Students should bring an apron and wear clothing and footwear appropriate for a clay class. The materials fee is for 1 bag of M340 clay. Additional clay is available for purchase at the VCAC front desk.
