Welcome to the

Vernon Community Arts Centre

The Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC), a non-profit organization and registered charity, is operated by the Arts Council of the North Okanagan (ACNO).  The Arts Centre is a community based facility providing a variety of CLASSES and workshops for beginner, intermediate and professional artists of all ages. The VCAC also provides studio DROP IN SESSIONS, allowing individuals to work on their own art projects, while interacting and collaborating with others, and having access to specialized tools and equipment . Our JOINING HANDS program provides adults living with a disability the opportunity to participate in artistic activities. We also host many EVENTS throughout the year. The VCAC’s CENTRE GALLERY and ART SHOP are open to the public and showcase the work of local artists who are all members of the ACNO.  Come visit us today to see all we have to offer! We’re located in the beautiful Polson Park which is right on a bike path, and we have great access to free parking!

A message from the Arts Council of the North Okanagan
Statement regarding COVID-19 and programs at the Arts Centre

April 27, 2020: To protect our staff, instructors, and our community from exposure to COVID-19, we will remain closed until further notice.  When public health determines that the risk from COVID-19 has subsided we will reopen. Management staff are meeting to review opening dates and determine new class schedules.  Classes and programs will be postponed and rescheduled. Full refunds for cancelled classes will be issued once we are back in business. The Vernon Community Arts Centre and Arts Council of the North Okanagan appreciates the public’s understanding and patience as we monitor the COVID-19 situation and take direction from provincial and federal health agencies.

Stay safe and check out the Isolate and Create website www.okcreateonline.com for inspiration!

3% Fundraiser

Nature’s Fare offers an amazing program to non-profit organizations in the community. With every purchase made at any of the Nature’s Fare locations, the Arts Centre will receive 3% of the pretax totals submitted. The public can save their receipts and submit them to the Arts Centre at any time, which will help the Arts Council of the North Okanagan with some extra funding.  If you have any questions about the program, please contact Nancy Vince at navince@shaw.ca or 250-541-0028.

Special thanks to our generous sponsors:
